Our Tunis lambs are raised primarily on pasture, and given a small amount of grain daily. They are taken to the butcher in the fall/winter when they weigh 100-115 lbs. We also have their pelts sent to a local furrier to be processed.
Meat
Our lamb is vacuum-sealed, frozen and available as half or whole orders, or by-the-cut. We usually have lamb for sale in the fall through winter, and take reservations beginning in September, as we sell out quickly.
With a whole order you will receive the following cuts: (2 each) boneless leg and boneless shoulder; (4) shanks; loin chops; rib roast (or chops); organs; bones; ground and/or cubed meat. Half orders contain (1 each) boneless leg and boneless shoulder; (2) shanks; loin chops; rib roast (or chops); organs; bones; ground and/or cubed meat.
**Whole and half orders are priced on “hanging weight” – the percentage yield (in parentheses below). This is not the total weight of meat that you take home. Some weight will be lost due to boning and trimming. See our price list for current prices.
Lambskins
Average dimensions are 45″ x 30″ and length of fleece is approximately 2 1/2″. Each pelt is washable and comes with washing instructions (they can also be dry-cleaned or sent to Bucks County Furs for cleaning). When available, lambskins are listed on our Etsy shop.
