We scheduled Hannah’s surgery to remove her birthmark this week. The 1st day that was available was May 7th, which was her due date. 🙂 I thought that was funny!
Hi, I think my daughter has this. She is 2.5 now and I noticed it at birth. It is growing, but I guess it’s just growing as her head size is growing. It’s located at the back of her hairline and is decent in size. I only brought it up once to the doc. She just said we’d keep an eye on it, but that was long ago. Not sure when to bring it up again. How old was your daughter when she had the surgery?
Thanks.
Marsha
She was 26 months when we had the surgery. Our doctors told us that there could be a possibility of it becoming a problem if we didn’t remove it before puberty, due to hormone changes. We opted to do surgery sooner because she wouldn’t remember it and because we were told the skin is more elastic around that age so there is usually less scarring. I hope this helps you! Take care, Kim
wow! pretty cool! let me know what I can do to help!
thanks, I will!

Thanks Kim! I’ll likely bring it back up to her Ped the next time we are in to see her.
Great! Keep me posted, I’d like to hear about how things go. Take care!
